GUIDELINES FOR USE OF LIBRARY COMPUTERS

 Patrons who would like to use the internet are encouraged to come to the library and utitlize the improved system.

COMPUTER/INTERNET USE GUIDELINES

1.  Patrons must have identification and have a current Red Waller Community Library Card.

2.  Users must be able to use programs with minimal assistance from the library staff.

3.  You must read and sign the Internet Access Agreement Form.  If you are under 18 years of age, your parent or guardian must sign the Internet Access Agreement Form.  (Copies of the Internet Access Agreement Form are available at the Service Desk.)

4.  In order to avoid the possibility of computer contamination from viruses, you may not use your own software programs, nor your own diskettes on the library computers.  If you wish to save files, diskettes can be purchased at the circulation counter for a fee of $1.00 each.  NOTE:  The diskette cost is subject to change without notice.

5.  Software downloaded from the Internet may contain a virus and should be checked for viruses.  The Red Waller Community Library is not responsible for damage to a patron's disk or computer, nor for any damage or loss of data that may occur from patron use of the library's computers.

6.  Inernet access is available during the library's normal "open" hours.  The computers will be turned off 15 minutes before closing time.  Absolutely no exceptions will be made to this policy.

7.  Use of the computers is limited to a 30 minute session at a time.  If no one else is waiting, that time may be extended.  You must check with the service desk for an extention.

8.  Printing of information is permitted at a cost of twenty-five cents per page.  NOTE:  The per page cost to print is subject to change without notice.

9.  Misuse of library computers or internet access will result of your computer privileges.  A list of actions defining "MISUSE" is available at the Service Desk.
